Riding: 71 Miles
Another beautiful day on the Cowboy Trail. We really thought this would be a flat, boring, difficult trail, but wow, did it surprise us. It’s much more green than expected, and landscape is changing all the time. The surface is well maintained. Our biggest complaint is all the gopher holes…but I guess it’s difficult to prevent them.
Our biggest challenge today was the wind. We’re riding southeast, and the wind is blowing 15 mph, mostly from the south, so it’s a strong crosswind. Fortunately, the trees block some of the wind, making it a little easier than riding on the road. It’s slow going sometimes, but we are really enjoying the trail.
