Countdown to cross-country biking: 7 days
Mileage today: 57 miles
Today’s ride was another segment with a wide shoulder (most of the way), and plenty of beautiful vistas as I descended a mountain pass.
Headwinds and tailwinds. They are no joke in Montana. Today I was cruising at 20+ mph and didn’t need to pedal with a tailwind. But, when that same wind shifted, oh boy was I hurting.
Overall, this was another good ride. Not too challenging, but enough climbing to make it fun. I didn’t encounter much traffic, and that meant I could look around and really see Montana. It’s such a beautiful place.
Today is my birthday, so Brian and I picked up dinner at a nice restaurant in Darby and drove to the beach…who knew there are beaches in Montana? It was a great day.
