RV Trip Day 5: Sioux Falls to Badlands

Countdown to cross-country biking: 20 days

It’s Sunday, a day of rest, but Brian had an 8-hour work meeting. This happens from time to time. A technical meeting that was supposed to be an hour or two somehow becomes a day-long event. So, I took advantage of the morning and found some gravel roads near the KOA in Sioux Falls. They were amazing. Some were very flat and wide, and others were climbs and descents on loose gravel. Good preparation for the rides to come.

It took me about 5-1/2 hours to drive to the Badlands State Park from Sioux Falls. The wind was blowing south to north, and we were driving west, so a solid sidewind that pushed the RV into the shoulder from time to time, especially when a tractor trailer passed by. But, we made it to the park and then to the campground. This is my first time at the Badlands, and wow, is it beautiful.

At the campground looking out the window of our RV. Badlands National Park.

And, sunset at the Badlands is amazing!

But, I do have one complaint…the temp!!!
