RV trip Day 4: Sparta, WI to Sioux Falls, SD

Countdown to cross-country bike trip: 21 days

No riding today. We took advantage of a Saturday morning and slept in a little bit. Got on the road around 8:45 am local time (Central). This was our longest day of driving, 380 miles. Arrived at the KOA in Sioux Falls around 3:30 pm. It’s slow going in an RV, but I guess we’re not really in a hurry on this trip.

I’m doing most of the driving while Brian sits at the dinette and works. It’s a good arrangement, and we can keep the air-conditioning on with the generator running. I imagined that our dog Oreo should want to sit next to Brian at the table on the trip, but instead he wants to sit in the passenger’s seat and watch the road (or sleep). So most of the day looks like me driving, listening to podcasts or a book on tape; Oreo curled up on the passenger’s seat napping; and Brian sitting at the table with his headphones in leading a work call or doing work on his laptop.

At least, that’s how these first five days will look. After that we have a day off in the Badlands and later, four days in Yellowstone with Brynn. Looking forward to those days!
