RV Trip Day 2: Sandusky Ohio to Indiana Dunes State Park

Countdown to cross-country biking: 23 days

We’re working our way across the country. Today’s drive was mostly I-80/I-90 through Ohio and Indiana…straight, flat and frankly kinda boring. But, we made it to Indiana Dunes State Park (and National Park). I was able to get a quick ride in on the trails, some paved and some unpaved. It was good to get back on the bike after many days of packing.

The beach at the park is beautiful! In some ways it reminds me of Lake Erie, but so much bigger, and more sand.

We’ve got an early start tomorrow for our drive to Wisconsin. We’ll be staying at our first Harvest Host location tomorrow night. If it works out, I might schedule a few more in August and September. We’ve already made the 17 campsite reservations for our trip from State College to Washington state. But, our bike ride back to DC requires 60 different camping reservations. I’ve made 11 so far – that leaves lots of room for a few Harvest Host stops.

So exciting! Love that you’re camping near a beach. I’ll be interested in finding out about your Harvest Host experience. We’ve used them for an overnight at an Ohio Winery and it was perfect.
