Biking: 67 miles.
Today we crossed from Illinois to Indiana.That also means we’re back in the Eastern Time Zone and we’re one day closer to home.
Today’s ride confirmed our suspicions that RWGPS has no idea whether roads in Illinois are gravel or paved. After riding difficult road after road, we took matters into our own hands and found Old Route 50 that runs along the side of Rt. 50. For the most part it was well paved (a few gravel spots), and it ran for a good portion of today’s route.
Like so many other states we’ve ridden through, Illinois has beautiful farm land. I’ve been amazed on this trip by all the farms and ranches we’ve seen.
Of course, the big milestone for today was riding into Indiana.
Vincennes is right over the board in Indiana. We rode over a bridge, crossed the state line, and we were in town.
This is another beautiful historical town. I’m sorry we didn’t get to spend more time exploring it. But, back on the bikes again tomorrow and continuing through Indiana.
