Bike Trip Day 44: Fremont to Malvern

Riding: 80 miles

Today Anita and Mark left their hotel in Fremont, rode to Omaha, navigated around the city, and hopped on the Wabash Trail that led them out of Nebraska and into Iowa. The first ride in that state. It was a long day, but the last 22 miles on the trail were great. It’s a hard-packed trail under tree cover.

The town of Malvern sits right on the Wabash Trail, and it’s very bike focused, including the artwork.

Unfortunately, I’ve been fighting a long-standing physical issue that interferes with biking from time to time. And, today was one of those days. I’m hoping to be back on the bike tomorrow to join them for the ride from Malvern to Maryville, where we’ll be crossing out of Iowa and into Missouri.
